Vietnam China friendly relations over the years

Vietnam China is two friendly neighboring countries, connected by mountains and rivers. The two parties, governments, and peoples of the two countries support and help each other in the struggle for national liberation and national construction, forming a passionate friendship. As Chairman Ho Chi Minh, he once said, "Vietnam China friendship is both a shared aspiration and a brotherhood."

Over the years, the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries has continuously developed under the 16 word motto of "good neighborly friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term stability, and forward-looking thinking". God 4 is a good neighbor, good friend, good comrade, and good partner. Recently, Vietnam China relations have overcome the difficulties brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic and continue to achieve many positive results. Regular high-level exchanges are held. It is expected that the bilateral trade volume will exceed 160 billion US dollars in 2021. The two countries actively engage in epidemic prevention cooperation. On this occasion, we express our sincere and profound gratitude to the Chinese party, government, and people for their valuable support in providing COVID-19 vaccines to the Vietnamese people.

On July 13, 2022, the 14th meeting of the China Vietnam Bilateral Cooperation Steering Committee was held in Nanning, Guangxi. State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Vietnamese Executive Vice Premier Fan Pingming jointly chaired the meeting, and multiple ministries and local leaders from both sides participated through a combination of online and offline methods.

Both parties and their respective departments are working together to promote pragmatic cooperation and continuously make new progress. This year, both China and Vietnam have important domestic political agendas, and we need to strengthen overall coordination and work together towards building a strategically significant community with a shared future. Faced with the risks, challenges, and arduous tasks of reform and development on the road to progress, we must inherit special friendship, consolidate unity and mutual trust, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, serve the construction and development of our respective countries, and make greater contributions to regional peace, stability, and prosperity together.

During the meeting, both sides summarized the positive achievements of pragmatic cooperation between the two countries and agreed to accelerate docking, transforming consensus into specific actions to promote cooperation.

The two sides will further strengthen the docking of development strategies, accelerate connectivity, and jointly build the "the Belt and Road" and "two corridors and one circle" cooperation.

Both sides highly value the counter trend growth of trade between the two countries and will explore the establishment of a mechanism for mutual protection and promotion of the supply chain, strengthen port construction, and promote customs clearance convenience.

Both sides will strengthen exchanges and cooperation in various fields such as agriculture, epidemic prevention, emerging industries, and news media.

Both sides will properly handle sensitive maritime issues and promote more visible achievements in maritime cooperation.

Both sides will strengthen unity and cooperation in regional and international affairs, adhere to the ASEAN led and effective regional cooperation framework, adhere to true multilateralism, and practice open regionalism.
